Ross Caliendo (b. 1988, Pittsburgh, PA) is a visual artist living and working in Los Angeles, CA. With his vibrant, textured paintings, Caliendo constructs a surrealistic depiction of the natural world and investigates the powerful tension created by the use of rich color in combination with thick impasto. Caliendo earned his BFA at Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD), Ohio. Solo and two person exhibitions include CVG Foundation (Beijing, China), Ross+Kramer (East Hampton and New York, NY and Miami, FL), Grifter (New York, NY), No Place Gallery (Columbus, OH), Phil Gallery (Los Angeles, CA), and Mayeur Projects (Las Vegas, NE). His work has been exhibited in numerous group exhibition nationwide, including SPURS (Beijing, China), LOYAL @ El Royale (Los Angeles, CA), Moskowitz Bayse (Los Angeles, CA), Night Gallery (Los Angeles, CA), The Pit (Glendale, CA), Tyler Park Presents (Los Angeles, CA), and Five Car Garage (Santa Monica, CA), among others. Most recently, Ross Caliendo had his fourth solo presentation with Ross+Kramer, entitled Twin Habit, at the gallery's Miami Beach location.
